Authorized Departures due to COVID-19 The Department of State (DOS) has approved an Authorized Departure from foreign areas to include Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees -- and/or other eligible family members (EFMs) who may need to accompany them - who have determined they are at higher risk of a poor outcome if exposed to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The first case in the United States was announced on January 21, 2020. There are ongoing investigations to learn more.
