Ms. Regina Florence is a native of Texarkana, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. As a special education teacher in Texas, she continued her education and obtained a Masters of Education Degree with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Florence received her Principal’s certification through the Region 20 Leadership program.
Ms. Florence has been an educator for 25 years in which she has served military and non-military communities. She served in the Texas Air National Guard and received the honor as the 149th Fighter Wing Airman of the Year and Services Airman of the Quarter. Ms. Florence has experience as a college academic advisor/recruiter, special education teacher, Texas elementary school Assistant Principal and Principal, high school academic dean, and an international school administrator in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Mrs. Florence joined the Department of Defense Schools in 2015 as an Assistant Principal at Bechtel Elementary School in Okinawa, Japan. When not at school, Ms. Regina Florence and her husband appreciate traveling and listening to live music. She is a lifelong learner who enjoys enriching her professional development through various research based educational sources. Ms. Florence is passionate about empowering our young military-connected scholars to reach and obtain their full potential. She believes positive relationships are vital for quality teaching and learning; she looks forward to establishing positive relationships with the Spangdahlem Middle School staff and community.
