The brand new for 2018 Wiesbaden Middle School is located in beautiful Wiesbaden, Germany on the Hainerberg Housing area. We serve the families of the US Army Garrison Wiesbaden, which is home to USAEUR HQ. We strive to continue to grow professionally and to develop strong connections with our students, families and community.
WMS embraces the Middle School Concept with students attending classes in teams, creating a sense of belonging. Generally, students attend required classes in their own grade level neighborhood, and leave that neighborhood to attend elective classes such as Band, Art, PE, etc...
The school is conveniently located near base housing adjacent to Wiesbaden High School and Hainerberg Elementary School. We have a great playground and are also close to the youth service, the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center, the Commissary, and the PX.
Grades: 6 - 8
Educate, Engage and Empower military-connected students to succeed in a dynamic world.
The entire WMS community will provide a positive school climate through which all students can mature academically, socially, emotionally, and physically, while developing a lifelong love of learning.
Motto: Think Well. Do Well. Be Well.
Reading Goal: Wiesbaden Middle School students will be at or above grade level in reading by the end of the school year through the use of target interventions and the implementation of CCRSL and AVID strategies across the curriculum, as measured by the SRI and the CCRSL PARCC Summative Assessment. 80% of WMS students will be proficient or advanced by spring 2018 as measured by SRI.
Collaboration Goal: Wiesbaden Middle School will implement effective, student-focused weekly collaboration for all educators through the evaluation of student work, participation in cohorts and cross-complex collaboration, as measured by the DoDEA Europe East Collaboration Rubric. WMS will increase the frequency of teachers reporting a focus on DuFour's Four by 10%.
21st Century Teaching and Learning Goal: Wiesbaden Middle School will continue to implement 21st century teaching and learning practices as we transition into our new state-of-the-art campus, as evident in our methodical preparation of learners and teachers; focused teacher collaboration to support co-teaching, curriculum integration, project based learning, and complex-wide logistical support.
