A talented workforce is an essential part of student achievement. To meet the everchanging needs of students, DoDEA must ensure all employees are equipped with the right resources. To help employees continuously improve, DoDEA identified three Strategic Initiatives: Onboarding Program, Employee Professional Growth, and Leadership Development Program. Together, these Strategic Initiatives ensure that DoDEA is attracting, hiring, and retaining a strong team while encouraging employee growth, development, and engagement.

Why Statement: Why this now?

DoDEA’s focus on cultivating a high-performing workforce is essential to the success of our global school system. We need a strong onboarding program to ensure new employees understand their roles and our unique culture. We will expand professional development and recertification pathways to provide flexible, relevant learning opportunities for educators and staff. Prioritizing leadership development at all levels will build effective, visionary leaders who inspire and empower employees to innovate and grow. DoDEA’s focus on talent excellence will meet the need for a resilient and future-ready workforce prepared to support student success around the world.

Goal 3- Strategic Initiative 3.1: 

Onboarding — We will implement and refine a DoDEA-wide onboarding program to ensure every employee is equipped for success in their new role.

Employee Professional Growth — We will expand pathways for professional development and
continuing education, leading to employee growth and organizational improvement.

 

Goal 3- Strategic Initiative 3.3: 

Leadership Development — We will develop a robust continuum of leadership development supports, ensuring that all leaders develop the capacity to engage employees and foster a thriving workforce.
