America Regional Advisory Committee
Working collectively to enhance educational programs
The RAC is a formal mechanism for the DoWEA America Director and representative members of key stakeholder groups to foster communication, facilitate problem solving, and provide recommendations to the Dependents Education Council (DEC) as appropriate. Members of the RAC work collectively to enhance and improve the delivery of educational programs and support services to DoWEA students.
Members rotate every two years with the exception of military command representatives.
The DoWEA Americas Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) will begin in School Year 2026–2027, with scheduled meetings on January 26, 2027, and May 18, 2027. The RAC serves a critical role by advising military services, district superintendents, and the Region Director for Student Excellence on matters impacting student education and the overall school environment. These meetings provide a vital forum for identifying issues that affect schools across the region, fostering communication among stakeholders, and facilitating collaborative problem solving. Importantly, RACs ensure that concerns and recommendations from parents, students, school leaders, and military partners are formally gathered and elevated to the appropriate decision-making levels, where unresolved issues can be escalated for further action. The structured feedback collected through RAC sessions is essential to ensuring the DoDEA Americas region remains responsive to community needs, aligned with military family priorities, and focused on continuous improvement in educational outcomes.
