Welcome to Barkley Elementary School! We are a 21st century school! Barkley is a “state of the art school” in terms of our building and classroom design, as well as our technology. Our school is a green ribbon school and utilizes solar panels, water capture and geothermal heating and air. The building is wireless with at least one computer for every two students. Smartboards are also accessible to students throughout the school. Each classroom studio is beautiful and open in order for teachers and students to work collaboratively with attention to the needs of individual students.
Barkley offers a multiplicity of services for our students. From Special Education (SPED), to Gifted Education (GE), art, music, English as a Second Language (ESL), Elementary Spanish (FLES) as well as after school activities for students, we’ve got something for everyone. We have counseling services, speech services, physical and occupational therapy services for our students as well.
We are proud that we serve the students of the United States military living on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Our students’ safety and education are primary for those of us that get to work here and our parents know their kids are in good hands at Barkley Elementary School. . We invite you to explore our website or better yet, visit our school. We know you will love it.

Here is the School Supply List for all grades!
Your child’s safety, well-being, and security is our number one priority.
DoDEA has two different training videos that are appropriate for students at different grade levels. Parents are able to view the video training at https://www.dodea.edu/Offices/Safety/videos.cfm or click the link below.
We realize some parents may not want their children to view the videos. To opt out of the training, please provide a signed written letter to your child’s school principal, Mr. Turnipseed. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Turnipseed or Mrs. Blount.
We are happy to announce the launch of DoDEA’s Blueprint for Continuous Improvement, our new strategic plan for School Years 2018/19 through SY2023/24. In DoDEA, we acknowledge that the pursuit of excellence requires an ongoing commitment to continuously improve in order to meet the changing needs of our students. As a result, our Blueprint is designed to be a living, responsive plan that will be updated annually to reflect our progress and to refine our direction.
The Blueprint focuses on five major goals that pave the way for student achievement and excellence for our organization: Student Excellence, School Excellence, Talent Excellence, Organizational Excellence, and Outreach Excellence.
