Special Arrangements

Special Arrangements are defined in DoD Instruction 1342.26. Specifically, they are an agreement between the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) or designee and a Local Education Agency (LEA/public school system) whereby a school or school system operated by the LEA provides educational services to eligible dependent children of U.S. military personnel and federally employed civilian personnel. This arrangement(s) result(s) in partial or total Federal funding to the LEA for the educational services provided.
