Dr. Tabatha Cross-Anderson
Biography
Dr. Tabatha Cross-Anderson is a dedicated educational leader who brings more than three decades of experience, a deep commitment to academic excellence, and a profound understanding of military-connected families to her role as an elementary school principal.
Dr. Cross-Anderson began her academic journey at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math and Literacy. She continued her graduate studies at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, earning a master’s degree in education. Driven by a passion for leadership, she pursued and completed a Specialist in Education in Administration and Supervision at Tennessee State University. She later earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Her teaching career began in Hinesville, Georgia, as a middle school Math and Literacy teacher at Lewis Frazier Middle School. Dr. Cross-Anderson then served as an Educational Specialist in Early Childhood Education with Marie Detty Head Start in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she discovered her passion for working with young learners.
Dr. Cross-Anderson’s career with the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) began in Baumholder, Germany, where she taught kindergarten at Smith and Wetzel Elementary Schools. She continued teaching kindergarten at Humphreys Elementary School in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, and later at Marshall Elementary School at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Her leadership journey within DoWEA includes serving as Assistant Principal at André Lucas Elementary School, Sevilla Elementary Middle School, and Fort Campbell High School. She went on to serve as Principal at Marshall Elementary School at Fort Campbell, demonstrating a strong commitment to fostering supportive, high-achieving school communities.
Having lived the military lifestyle for more than 35 years, Dr. Cross-Anderson deeply understands the complexity and resilience of military families. She believes strongly in the power of home–school partnerships and is dedicated to building meaningful, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff. Her leadership is marked by compassion, collaboration, and an unwavering dedication to the academic success and well-being of every military-connected child.
A seasoned educator, thoughtful leader, and passionate advocate for children, Dr. Tabatha Cross-Anderson continues to inspire excellence and create nurturing learning environments where students can grow, thrive, and succeed.
