One great benefit of taking AP Exams is the opportunity to earn college credit and placement. Many colleges and universities in the United States grant credit and placement for qualifying AP scores. You can save money and get a head start on your degree when you enter college with credit you’ve already earned through AP. AP offers the most rigorous academic experience available in high school, so preparation, motivation and determination are required! Speak to your counselor or to the AP teacher about course specifics.

The AP exam is required to be eligible for college credit; however, the exam is not required to complete the course for high school credit. Students who successfully complete the AP course, but do not sit for the AP exam will receive high school credit for their studies.
