IB Arabic 1 High is designed for 11-12th grade students who have some previous experience with the language. The main focus of the course is on language acquisition and development of language skills. These skills will be developed through the study and use of a range of written and spoken material such as everyday oral exchanges and literary texts, in order to develop mastery of language skills and intercultural understanding. All foreign languages taught at the higher level are appropriate for students who have a command of both the spoken and written language. This is the weighted version of IB Arabic 1 High. Students must have been enrolled and passed FLA692 IB Arabic 2 High to earn the extra grade point.
Course Note: Fulfills 1 credit of the IB diploma foreign language requirement.
