During American Education Week, November 13–17, 2017, DoDEA joins the nation in raising awareness about the need to provide every child with a quality education.
Throughout the week, DoDEA schools have an opportunity to recognize the important partnerships they have forged with parents, students, and civilian and military communities to improve the quality of education for children of military families. Our schools take on an additional role and significance in our communities, often providing the stability, routine and focus for families affected by current global events, deployments, and separations.
Sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA) and other organizations, American Education Week highlights the importance of mobilizing communities to share in the responsibility of making schools great for every child so that they can meet the demands of the 21st century.
Visit the NEA website for a collection of ideas and ready-made tools for your school to use in organizing local celebrations.
