Department of Defense Education Activity
DoDEA is going back to school!

The 2021-2022 school year is upon us and we remain flexible to meet any contingency.  We recognize that face-to-face instruction and continuity of education, along with the routines of school are a critical quality of life component for military families and communities.

DODEA has put in place numerous safety requirements and precautionary measures that follow CDC and DOD guidance to the greatest extent possible to ensure employees and students are protected. Physical distancing, face coverings, and other mitigations are important tools to protect the health of our students, staff, and families as we pursue our mission.

School Handbooks

We have rolled out a new digital school handbook that remains up to date and can be easily referenced and printed. This document overhaul simplifies the handbook update process allowing our, and other DoDEA schools, to maintain accurate information. You can find a complete list of all DoDEA School handbooks here:

School Calendars

School calendars vary by state and region. Complete calendars for DoDEA schools can be found at:

How can parents get their children ready for a new school year?

All of us in DoDEA want to ensure parents and students have all the resources they need be safe and to succeed.

It is critical that parents help us as we return to school by establishing good hygiene and heathy behaviors at home and by setting an expectation that your child will do the same at school.

Handwashing, use of sanitizer, social distancing, wearing of face coverings, and other heathy practices will help ensure the well-being of all students and staff. Above all, if your child is sick, keep them home and get medical attention if necessary.

Back To School SY21-22This page is designed to be a one-stop shop for links to everything, other than health and safety, from school calendars to supply lists, and everything in between. If you need more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to your school's administrator, whose contact information is listed to the right. They are dedicated to making sure students at all grade levels are given the academic foundation, social and emotional skills, and counseling services necessary to be ready for college or career. The best way to ensure that happens is to make sure all students are ready to take on the new school year!
