Academic Development
The Virtual High School Counseling Program supports a career awareness domain. Through webcasts and webinar sessions, students enrolled in the Virtual High School have access to college representatives and military recruiters on a regular basis who provide information about college, work, and military opportunities.
 
Academic Integrity
In an online environment, this is one of the greatest concerns in regards to student achievement. Whether intentional or not, the use of other people's work is a violation of the DoDEA Virtual High School’s policy of Academic Integrity and can result in severe consequences.

The Virtual High School Counseling program provides all students educational services, in collaboration with parents, their local school, and the community, that foster academic, career, and social/emotional growth (ASCA Model) toward lifelong success and effective, responsible citizenship for a diverse and changing global world.

DoDEA Courses Offered by the DVHS
 
Course Withdrawal
Effective school year 2015-16, DoDEA Administrative Instruction (AI) 2000.1 (Sec 7.D.1) provides direction for when withdrawals may occur and what notations are required for student withdrawal. These instructions apply to all students enrolled in DVHS courses regardless of eligibility upon which they are enrolled.

The DVHS eLibrary collection includes non-fiction eBook titles and curriculum reference materials selected specifically to support DVHS curriculum and instruction.

DoDEA Virtual HS Registration Procedures
Students interested in enrolling in DVHS courses should consult their local DoDEA high school counselor or NDSP Area Office to designate course requests. These requests will be forwarded to DVHS staff to place students in coursework according to openings at the time of course request. Enrollment is contingent upon DoDEA eligibility.
 
Early Withdrawal Policy (Acceleration)
DVHS acknowledges approved acceleration plan for students enrolled through DoDEA middle and high schools. The local school facilitator or counselor must immediately notify DVHS administration or counselor when a student is approved for acceleration.

Summer School Program
DVHS’s Online Summer High School Program is designed for students to complete the equivalent of one semester course credit. The program provides students an opportunity to earn original credit or to replace a failing grade.

Provides information on school and community activities or programs.
 
Transcript Request
DVHS student records and transcripts may be requested from several different sources, depending upon the student's last date of attendance or graduation date.
 
Virtual Option
The 2020-2021 school year will look different across DoDEA as our schools reopen in a “new normal” environment due to COVID-19. We know that in-person classroom instruction is optimal for most of our military-connected students.
