Department of Defense Education Activity

Faith MS: Activities

Eligibility

To be eligible to compete in athletics at Faith Middle School student athletes must:

  • Have a current sports physical.
  • Maintain at least a "C" average to try out and play sports. A student's academic performance and effort must be commensurate with the student's ability in addition to following all school policies.
  • Be registered with Child, Youth, and School Services (CYS). Parents can register their children at Building 104 on Marchant Avenue or online.

FMS athletic policy includes:

Attendance

  • Students are required to be in school the full day on the day of a weekday game. The only exception is for an appointment approved by the school administration in advance.
  • A student cannot be absent from school and attend practice or participate in athletic game or program except for an excused absence approved by the administration in advance.
  • A student who has "2 or more unexcused tardies" on the day of a scheduled athletic game or program is ineligible for participation in that event.
  • A student suspended from school is not eligible, at the minimum, for the next scheduled competition.
  • A student who has 7 unexcused absences in a semester is subject to be removed from the team.

At Faith Middle School, we have created a co-curricular program that is student-centered and consequently one that kids want to be a part of. Students who participate in an after-school activities program must be picked up or depart the campus after the activity ends.  Students must also be registered with Child, Youth, and School Services (CYS). Parents can register their children at Building 104 on Marchant Avenue or online.

Just a reminder; all after-school activity pickups will be in the bus loop near the gym. Due to safety reasons, no pick-ups will be in front of the school.

After school clubs and activities normally meet only on days that the school follows a full day schedule, NOT on early release days. Also, due to unforeseen training, meetings, or teacher absences, an activity may be canceled without advanced notice. If the activity is canceled at the last minute, students will be notified through the school intercom system at the end of the instructional day.

If you have any questions concerning clubs, sports, or activities, you may e-mail the Activities Director at Activities.FaithMS@am.dodea.edu
