Kaiserslautern HS: School Activities

The athletic program at Kaiserslautern HS always has been a strong one. There is interscholastic competition for boys and girls during three seasons. The Interscholastic Athletics Program (IAP) is open to all students in grades 9 -12. To participate on an athletic team, a student must meet all criteria established by DoDEA, DoDEA-Europe, and KHS. This includes adherence to the DoDEA Academic Eligibility Standards. Sportsmanship and personal fitness are two of the goals of the athletics program. All participants and parents must sign and abide by the Kaiserslautern HS Athletic Code. A physical examination each year is required to try out, practice, or play. Any medication left with school nurse or carried by an athlete (i.e. inhaler) MUST have a medication permission form which is submitted to school nurse. There is also a athletics packet that is required for all students participating in the Interscholastic Athletics Program.

Kaiserslautern High School competes in DoDEA Division 1 Athletics.  With a student population of greater than 800, KHS does not allow middle school students to participate in its athletics program. Parents of middle school students who wish their children to train or compete in athletics should contact their local CYS coordinator.
