All students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities whether they be athletic, academic or social in nature. These activities help to shape students and prepare them for the future as part of a well rounded education.
Some of our athletics and activities are Europe based events, which means that there is a culminating area wide championship for athletics that mimics a state championship. Europe Activities are support curriculum and offer area wide available throughout the year that range from art, drama and music to math, language and film/entertainment. More information concerning Europe specific activities can be found under on the DoDEA Europe, Student Activities page.
DoDEA does not offer competitive sports at the middle school level. As such Kaiserslautern Middle School does not have organized athletic teams. If your child wishes to train and/or compete in athletics, please contact your local Community Youth Services (CYS) or 86th Force Support Squadron (FSS) coordinator.

School clubs are a great way to develop new interests and make new friends. Kaiserslautern Middle School provides a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs for every student. Students select activities based on their interests and participate after school during the week. Teachers are the sponsors and coordinate the programs directly with parents, student and community volunteers.
Parents and students may contact the school office for more information about the current school year extra-curricular activities and how to register.
The Academic Enrichment Clubs are open to any student striving to improve their academic standing. It is a place for students to work on their homework and receive assistance with assignments. Students can work collaboratively and quietly discuss their work within a group while adhering to KMS rules. It is highly recommended that the student bring their agenda with assignments listed to the Academic Enrichment Clubs to maximize learning while on task.

Could your child use an extra $5,000 ?? That's the National Winner's first prize for Ecybermission. We're looking for students who like a problem solving challenge!! eCYBERMISSION is a web-based science, math and technology competition for groups of MIDDLE SCHOOL students. This school year the US Army has announced a competition for students across the US and DoDEA schools to help their community by demonstrating group problem solving. eCYBERMISSION challenges our students to explore how science, math and technology work in our community. Some students may have seen this advertised on AFN. We encourage you to talk about this with your son or daughter. Students here at KMS will form a teams of three or four students. Then, all team members register by using the website below. (sorry—you can ONLY work with another student on YOUR GRADE LEVEL ONLY). Also, students need to find a Team Advisor (Team Advisors must be teacher, coach, counselor, or leader in a youth organization, or a parent here at KMS and at least 21 years of age.) and then everyone works together to solve a real problem in our KMC community to compete for regional and national awards.
