Aviano graduating seniors read with kindergartners
Aviano Middle High School seniors recently partnered with Aviano Elementary School kindergartners for a special reading experience that brought two generations of students together through books and conversation.
Ms. Leah, a graduating senior at Aviano High School, helped make the event possible. As part of her Career Practicum course requirements, Ms. Leah spends time each week working with Ms. Nichole Ray‑Price’s kindergarten class. After speaking with her father, a history teacher at Aviano Middle High School, about how students in the past read with younger children, Ms. Leah was inspired to help bring the activity back.
To prepare for the visit, the kindergarten students eagerly selected several favorite books to share with the seniors. The class then walked over to Aviano Middle High School, where they were welcomed into the history classroom. Each kindergartner was paired with a senior, and together they enjoyed a relaxed and engaging reading session filled with smiles and laughter.
This inter‑school collaboration is a wonderful example of leadership and initiative on Ms. Leah’s part and provided a meaningful opportunity for graduating seniors to give back to the school community.
Ms. Leah plans to continue her education in the fall, pursuing a major in international relations and carrying forward the spirit of service and collaboration she demonstrated through this experience.
