Dear DoWEA Pacific Region Families

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

There is something truly special about the first day of school. As parents, many of us take pictures of our children to capture the excitement and even a few first-day jitters. Over the year, your student will make new friends, learn new things, and develop new skills. One day, that first-day picture will remind us just how far they have come.

As an educator and a parent, I have experienced many first days of school, and I continue to be inspired by the energy each new year brings. Whether your child is entering a DoWEA classroom for the first time or preparing for graduation, our schools are ready to welcome, support, educate, and empower them.

We are committed to providing every student with opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. For families new to our communities, our student transition programs are here to help students build connections and feel at home in their new schools.

This year also gives our students a unique opportunity to continue celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. Throughout the school year, students will explore the people, events, innovations, and ideals that have shaped our nation while developing the knowledge, curiosity, and love of learning that will serve them throughout their lives.

I encourage you to stay connected with your child’s school and look for opportunities to become involved through your Parent Teacher Organization, School Advisory Committee, school activities, and other programs throughout the year. Strong partnerships between families, schools, and our military communities help create the environment our students need to thrive.
