Fryar Stadium Repairs Complete: DoWEA Americas Delivers Upgraded Athletic Facilities

The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) Americas has completed a major repair and upgrade project at Fryar Stadium in partnership with the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Fort Campbell.

The jointly funded effort began in Fall 2025 and reached completion this month. DPW resurfaced the running track, while DoWEA repaired five track and field facilities and replaced the field goal posts. Specific upgrades included the long and triple jump areas, shot put and discus facilities, pole vault runway and pit, and high jump setup.

The completed work has transformed the stadium from worn and damaged surfaces into a modern, safe, and professional-grade athletic venue. The upgrades directly support physical education, track and field, and football programs for DoWEA students and military-connected families.

DoWEA Americas leadership praised the results. Americas Chief of Staff Dr. Angelique R. Lamonski noted that the renovated facilities “look BEAUTIFUL” and are “so much better than when I observed the stadium prior to the project coming on board.”

Facility Chief William J. Harper Jr. emphasized that the project reflects DoWEA’s ongoing commitment to providing world-class facilities that are clean, well-maintained, and promote learning and student success.

This investment ensures military-connected student-athletes at Fort Campbell have access to high-quality infrastructure that supports their athletic development, safety, and overall educational experience.
