Michael Jimerson Named DoDEA South District’s Community Superintendent for Italy and Turkey Schools
SEMBACH, Germany — Dr. Michelle Howard-Brahaney, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Europe Director for Student Excellence, is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Michael Jimerson as the DoDEA South District’s Vicenza Community Superintendent. “Mr. Jimerson is an accomplished leader and dedicated professional. I am pleased to announce his selection for this significant role,” said Howard-Brahaney.
Mr. Jimerson, an Indiana native, brings more than 20 years of experience with DoDEA. He most recently served as Principal of Stuttgart High School, where he fostered a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and collaboration among staff and students.
Before leading Stuttgart High School, Mr. Jimerson served as Principal of Alconbury Middle High School in the United Kingdom and as Assistant Principal at Wiesbaden High School starting in 2015. During his time in Wiesbaden, he played a key role in the opening of DoDEA-Europe’s first 21st Century School, supporting educators and students through a period of major innovation and change.
From 2004 to 2015, Mr. Jimerson taught, coached, and sponsored a variety of student programs at Ansbach Middle High School. He contributed to several major district and community initiatives, serving on the Technical Evaluations Board, the Bavarian Health and Wellness Committee, the European Athletic Council, and the 21st Century Skills Task Group.
“Michael Jimerson is an innovative leader who brings a deep commitment to student success and community engagement,” said Howard-Brahaney. “His proven ability to promote academic excellence will be an invaluable asset to the Vicenza community.”
Mr. Jimerson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Health Science from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
Excited to continue serving the DoDEA Europe South District, Mr. Jimerson is honored to step into the role of Vicenza Community Superintendent. He and his wife, Rachel, are active community members dedicated to supporting military families. They have three daughters, ages 7, 9, and 10, and enjoy spending time together. In his free time, Mr. Jimerson appreciates rowing as well as technology and engineering projects with his children.
