Mr. Brian Hyden

Mr. Brian Hyden, Lead Facility Operations Specialist for the Pacific East District, was selected as DoWEA’s 2026 Second Quarter Employee of the Quarter. Mr. Hyden’s exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and strategic oversight have significantly enhanced facility operations, safety, and mission readiness across one of DoWEA’s most geographically dispersed districts, supporting 21 schools and administrative facilities throughout Japan. 

Throughout the quarter, Mr. Hyden demonstrated remarkable initiative by improving custodial contract accountability, strengthening safety and security requirements, and leading complex facility transition efforts. His contributions included coordinating the closure and transfer of facilities, overseeing major infrastructure projects, and ensuring the successful acceptance of a newly constructed district support facility. His efforts have improved operational efficiency, enhanced safety standards, and supported the long-term success of district operations. 

Mr. Hyden also distinguished himself through his commitment to workforce development and stewardship of critical resources. Through mentoring, training, and strategic planning, he strengthened facility management capabilities across the district while successfully advancing multimillion-dollar projects that directly benefit students and staff. His sustained excellence, professionalism, and dedication to mission accomplishment exemplify the highest standards of DoWEA civilian service.
