ALEXANDRIA, Va. —

The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) announced today the availability of an additional college readiness opportunity for students in grades 11–12 through the Classic Learning Test (CLT) during School Year 2026–2027.

DoWEA is offering 100 CLT vouchers to provide students with access to an additional college entrance assessment option as they prepare for postsecondary education opportunities. The CLT is accepted by more than 375 colleges and universities, including U.S. military service academies and participating university systems.

Supporting students as they plan for life after high school remains a key focus for DoWEA. Providing access to rigorous academic opportunities, resources, and multiple pathways allows students and families to make informed decisions that align with individual goals, strengths, and future plans. In a rapidly changing world, students benefit from opportunities that challenge them academically, help them demonstrate their readiness, and prepare them for continued success beyond graduation.

“Preparing students for their next steps after graduation requires access to information, resources, and opportunities that support their individual goals,” said DoWEA Director Paul Craft. “This opportunity provides another resource for students and families as they navigate the college preparation process.”

The CLT is a college entrance exam option for students in grades 11–12 and serves as an alternative to the SAT and ACT. The assessment measures reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills and can be completed remotely using a secure browser, providing flexibility for students attending DoWEA schools around the world.

Students interested in participating in the CLT opportunity should contact Assessmentsupport@dodea.edu for information about eligibility, voucher availability, and registration.
