ALEXANDRIA, Va. —

The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) has launched its “From Feedback to Action” campaign with the release of its 2026 Stakeholder Feedback Survey results, highlighting what parents and students across DoWEA schools worldwide say is working well and where continued improvement is needed.

The survey provides insight into key areas of the educational experience, including school safety, trust, communication, engagement, and overall satisfaction. Publishing the results is an important step in DoWEA’s commitment to transparency and ensuring stakeholder feedback informs decisions and future improvements.

“These results belong to DoWEA’s most important stakeholders—our military-connected families,” said DoWEA Director Paul Craft. “This feedback is being used to inform our planning as we continuously strive to ensure our students receive a world-class education that prepares every student to be a productive citizen and to succeed in a dynamic and complex world.”

Agency-wide results reflect strong stakeholder confidence in the learning environment. Respondents reported high levels of confidence in school and classroom safety, positive relationships among teachers, students and parents, high expectations for student success in mathematics, and overall parent satisfaction with their schools.

“We’re doing many things well—all thanks to the tireless efforts of the leaders, staff, volunteers and scores of others who support our students and families,” Craft said.

The survey also identified opportunities for continued growth, including increasing parent involvement in school improvement efforts and activities, strengthening academic reporting and opportunities for parent feedback, improving communication related to bullying and student behavior incidents, and enhancing student engagement and achievement in mathematics and English language arts.

Through “From Feedback to Action,” DoWEA will continue using stakeholder input to identify priorities, strengthen practices and demonstrate how feedback contributes to meaningful improvements across its schools.

“We understand that continuous improvement is more than an aspiration—it is a promise to the students and families that we serve,” said Craft. “My hope is that parents who didn’t participate this year will feel inspired to participate in our continuous improvement endeavors in 2027.”
