Most recently, as the Assistant Principal of Joan K. Mendel Elementary School in Yokota, Japan, Dr. Johnson was deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment where every student felt valued and empowered to reach their full potential. She championed evidence-based instructional practices, leveraged technology to enhance learning, and provided professional development opportunities that fostered growth for both educators and students.

Now, as the Principal of The Sullivans Elementary School, Dr. Johnson is thrilled to continue her journey of service by leading with compassion, collaboration, and excellence. She is passionate about fostering strong relationships with students, families, and staff – believing that meaningful connections are at the heart of academic and social success. Her vision is to cultivate joyful, student-centered learning environments that celebrate growth, curiosity, and community.

Outside of school, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with her husband, Christopher, and their three children – Heaven, who proudly serves in the United States Navy, and Christian and Kamryn, who attend DoDEA schools. She looks forward to continuing her work in the Pacific East District, empowering both students and educators to thrive as lifelong learners.
