Mr. Edwin Caballero Selected as Principal at Vicenza Elementary School
VICENZA, Italy —
Department of War Education Activity Europe South District Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fales is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Edwin Caballero as principal at Vicenza Elementary School, located in Vicenza, Italy.
Mr. Caballero brings more than 25 years of experience in education, leadership, and service to military-connected students and families. He began his educational career in 2000 with the Fort Worth Independent School District as a teacher at Worth Heights Elementary School. He later expanded his teaching experience at Trinity Valley School and North Side High School, where he developed a strong commitment to student-centered instruction and leadership development.
In 2018, Mr. Caballero joined the Department of War Education Activity as Assistant Principal at Antilles High School and later Antilles Middle School in Puerto Rico. He continued serving students and staff as Assistant Principal at Rota Middle High School in Spain and Livorno Elementary Middle School in Italy, where he supported academic programming, student services, and school improvement initiatives prior to his selection as principal at Vicenza Elementary School.
Mr. Caballero earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Columbia College and later earned a Master of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. As a lifelong learner, he also pursued doctoral studies in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University. Mr. Caballero credits his passion for education to the teachers who influenced him during his formative years, particularly his seventh-grade history teacher who inspired him to pursue a career in education.
“Mr. Caballero brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a strong commitment to student success,” Fales said. “His background as both an educator and military veteran provides him with a unique perspective that supports the needs of military-connected students and families. I am confident he will continue to build a positive and supportive learning environment at Vicenza Elementary School.”
Before entering the field of education, Mr. Caballero honorably served 20 years in the United States Air Force. His military experience provides him with a deep understanding of the unique needs of military-connected students and families and reinforces his commitment to supporting student success.
Mr. Caballero is guided by two core leadership principles: ensuring all decisions are rooted in what is best for students and recognizing that every student has unique strengths and challenges that, with the right support, allow them to reach their full potential.
Mr. Caballero and his family look forward to joining the Vicenza Elementary School community, where he is excited to lead, learn, and collaborate with students, staff, and families.
