Telework is recognized as an effective human capital management tool with a proven track record of increasing employee productivity, attracting and retaining high performers, and helping employees balance work and family obligations.
The DoDEA Telework Program Administrative Instruction 1422.02 is a flexible workplace arrangement that allows eligible employees to perform assigned duties at an approved alternative worksite instead of the office. Regular telework is set up as part of your work schedule. Approval is given to telework on specific days during each pay period. Eligibility for telework will depend on the duties of your position and your division's needs. Additionally, you must:
- Have duties that can be done off-site and do not involve secure materials, such as classified documents;
- Have a fully successful performance record and are not on a Performance Improvement Plan;
- Have access to the Cisco Any Connect VPN software and Microsoft Teams while on duty
Before you begin to telework, you will need to review DoD Telework Policy; DoD Instruction 1035.01, and DoDEA Telework Admin Instruction 1422.02, complete the telework training, and complete the telework agreement.
