DoDEA Pacific jumpstarts success with summer learning

PACIFIC REGION — June 25, 2021 — DoDEA Pacific welcomed more than 2,500 students back to school June 15 as the three-week Jumpstart to Success Summer Program launched across the region.

Jumpstart to Success features half and full-day elementary offerings, as well as a half-day middle school program. The elementary curricular content is focused on math and literacy, with a Host Nation culture program available in Korea and Japan. Middle school program options include the content areas of science and mathematics.

“This program has been an overwhelming success,” said DoDEA Pacific South District Chief of Staff Michelle Jones. “The students are excited, the curriculum is engaging, and our families have been truly appreciative for the opportunity to participate.”

The Jumpstart to Success Summer Program is being offered in Guam, Korea, mainland Japan and Okinawa through July 2, 2021.

DoDEA also provides support and resources to Local Educational Activities throughout the United States that serve children of military families.
