Vitania Quinones-Quinland is the current Principal at Vogelweh Elementary School. She has been in the field of education for 18 years. Prior to being a school-based administrator, she served a Prevention Specialist and as a special education teacher working closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure students had an opportunity to connect and learn based on their Individual Education Plans. Mrs. Quinones-Quinland earned both a bachelor’s and master’s in intercultural communication and rhetorical theory from Arizona State University and the University of New Mexico respectively. Working in the field of youth leadership and community service prior to teaching, she chose to change her path and become a school-based educator. She earned a Master of Education degree from Northern Arizona University in Elementary Education and Special Education, an Educational Specialist from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership, and is finishing her doctorate from Liberty University. Her service as a special education teacher and continuous school improvement chair have helped to shape her leadership style as a transformational leader. She seeks to use her experiences as a parent and educator to improve the educational experience of others.
Mary Bade is honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Vogelweh Elementary School in Germany.
Mrs. Bade officially began her career with DoDEA in 2004 as an educational aid at Ghedi Elementary School (an annex of Vicenza Elementary School). However, she served as a substitute teacher at Lakenheath Middle School from 2001-2004. She completed her student teaching at Vicenza Elementary and taught 2nd Grade. In 2008, Mrs. Bade moved to Tucson, AZ where she taught 4th and 5th grades and served as an Instructional Technology Coach in the Sunnyside Unified School District. Mrs. Bade returned to DoDEA in 2013 and taught 3rd grade at Humphreys Central Elementary School in South Korea. In 2014, Mrs. Bade moved to SHAPE Elementary School in Belgium where she has served as the Staff Development Teacher, a 5th grade teacher, and as one of the school’s Reading Specialists and Interventionists.
Mrs. Bade holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina-Asheville, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Bade considers herself a Lifelong Learner and continually taking classes to learn more about education and how best to meet the needs of students.
Mrs. Bade is passionate about military children. Having been an Air Force Spouse, she understands the unique aspects that military dependents experience during their lives. This passion for teaching and military students pushes her to continually look for ways to ensure that students in her school receive the best possible instruction. She enjoys working with staff, students, families, and the community to support the students that attend Vogelweh Elementary School.
Mrs. Bade lives with her Retired Air Force husband. They enjoy learning about the German culture and experiencing all that Germany has to offer. In their spare time, they like to hike, travel, and enjoy the great outdoors.
