The Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Europe (DoDDS Europe) is part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) . There are three educational systems within DoDEA:
DoDDS Europe operates 80 schools within five districts throughout Europe. DoDDS Europe serves over 33,000 school-age children of active duty military and civilian employees. Our footprint consists of the following countries: Bahrain, Belgium, England Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
Like many schools in the United States, Department of Defense (DoD) schools in Europe are accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). The entire DoDEA system is guided by the 2006 - 2011 DoDEA Community Strategic Plan (CSP), which outlines our vision, mission and goals. Our mission is to provide exemplary educational programs that inspire and prepare all students for success in a global environment.
