About Our School

Spangdahlem Middle School opened in 1990, with a bit more than 500 students, 40 teachers and support staff. The building was still being completed.  The playground was added a few years later. During the first four years the school was open, we had a sister school in Pskov, and later Oriol, Russia. Student groups from these schools would visit SMS in the Fall, and we would have a return visit in the late Spring.

Our school colors and mascot were decided by the students. One 8th grade student  was a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, and with his influence, we became the Spangdahlem Bulldogs with our school colors of red and black.

Grades Served: 6-8

Enrollment: 200
