Education Operations Branch

What We Do

The Education Operations Branch (EOB) provides guidance, support, and oversight for student registration/enrollment, student discipline, student rights and responsibilities, school calendars, school visitors /volunteers, student handbook, and advisory committees.  We also provide support to the student activity fund program and the expanded eligibility enrollment option (E30) for participating schools. 

Policy Development
  • Supports schoolwide policies from inception to implementation and monitoring.

School Handbook
  • The School Handbook serves as a guide for outlining school policies and procedures for students and parents. It establishes consistent safety protocols, academic requirements, and clarifies rights and responsibilities to create a structured educational environment.

  • Parent Pathways & Resources reflect DoWEA’s commitment to transparency and accountability for sponsors, parents, and legal guardians. This site provides clear access to information, communication, and resources to support DoWEA’s partnership with families and its responsibility to uphold consistent, high‑quality educational practices across all schools.

Student Eligibility and Enrollment
  • Provides guidance on student eligibility and enrollment for Department of War Education Activity CONUS and OCONUS schools. 
  • Establishes policy in accordance with Title 10 and Title 20 statutory laws. 
  • Collaborates with Region Offices to implement policy and establish procedures. 
  • Conducts staff assistance visits to ensure compliance with established policy.

School Visitors and Volunteers Program

The School Visitors and Volunteers Program offers opportunities for parents and community members to get involved in a variety of ways such as classroom and library assistance, tutoring and mentoring, office administration, playground and lunchroom monitoring, event setup, fundraising, etc.

To become a volunteer, please contact your school directly to receive a School Volunteer Program packet. Prospective and current school volunteers can also check with their child's teacher for specific opportunities.

Student Activity Fund Program

The Student Activity Fund Program allows Department of War Education Activity middle and high school students to fundraise monies in support of extracurricular activities. These non-appropriated funds are accounted for by the Student Activity Fund (SAF) Program. For details about the SAF Program, please refer to DoDEA Administrative Instruction 1015.01.
