Ms. Melissa Eagley
Biography
Mrs. Melissa Eagley as the Assistant Principal of Don C. Faith Middle School in the Southeast District at Fort Benning, Georgia. Mrs. Melissa Eagley will assume her duties on August 24, 2025.
Mrs. Eagley is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience. As a native of Upstate New York, she began her teaching career and family life in the region. Her extensive qualifications include leadership skills, Trauma Informed Care training, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports coordination, Differentiated Instruction specialization, curriculum development and implementation, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
In 2003, Mrs. Eagley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Psychology of Education with a minor in Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in Education, specializing in Inclusive Education, from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY in 2005. In 2020, she obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration, focusing on Building and District Leadership, from the University of Brockport in Rochester, NY.
Mrs. Eagley began her teaching career in 2005 at her alma mater, Midlakes Elementary, where she taught special education in both co-taught and self-contained classrooms for grades 2–5. In 2015, she transitioned to middle and high school special education at the Villa of Hope, serving students with IEPs and 504 plans. Over time, she advanced into curriculum leadership roles and later became Director of the Committee on Special Education, successfully leading the school through a state audit and ensuring compliance with New York State standards.
In 2020, Mrs. Eagley joined the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) as a fourth-grade teacher at Charles P. Murray Elementary School at Fort Stewart. In 2022, she assumed the role of Assistant Principal at Edward A. White Elementary School at Fort Benning, where she proudly served for three years. During her tenure, she was dedicated to ensuring a consistent, safe, and supportive educational environment for military-connected children.
Mrs. Eagley is excited to embark on the next chapter of her journey within the Benning community as a member of the Faith Middle School team. She is deeply dedicated to cultivating a positive, collaborative atmosphere among families and staff, while continuing to champion a safe and supportive learning environment for military-connected students.
Mrs. Eagley lives in Columbus, Georgia with her husband Steven, an Army veteran, and their two sons—Wyatt, who recently enlisted in the Navy Reserves, and Jack, who is currently in high school. She considers it a privilege to support our military families and students.
