Ms. Mynda Massey-Vukovic

Biography

Mrs. Mynda Massey-Vukovic began her DoDEA career in the Pacific and is excited to return! She is looking forward to joining the staff of Kadena Middle School, in Okinawa Japan to work together with community partners and ensure the best educational and social/emotional opportunities for our students!

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is originally from Jacksonville, NC home to Camp Lejeune where her father completed his 30 year career in the USMC. Being herself a military child Mrs. Massey-Vukovic’s goal is to help the students and families of Kadena MS adjust to life abroad, while experiencing the best educational opportunities DoDEA has to offer. In her 25 year career, Mrs. Massey Vukovic has amassed a wealth of knowledge in the areas of leadership, curriculum and instruction, staff development, teacher mentoring and student success programming. Mrs. Massey-Vukovic holds two Masters Degrees (Curriculum and technology and Educational Leadership) and is currently in the Dissertation phase of her PhD in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy. Mrs. Massey-Vukovic believes that with this knowledge and her commitment to culturally responsive leadership she will be able to seamlessly integrate into the established culture of KMS and work with the staff and families to shape an exceptional educational community.

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is committed to the three C’s (Communication, Collaboration and Consistency) of successful leadership as they are paramount to the success of any educational program. Through her experiences as one of the founding administrators of Patch MS in Stuttgart Germany she has learned that policies and procedures based in restorative practices help middle level learners develop a well-rounded view of education and their place in the global community. It is her personal mission to ensure that students leave KMS poised for greatness, and prepared to seamlessly integrate into an ever changing global community.

Mrs. Massey-Vukovic is accompanied by her husband, Aleksandar Vukovic and they are both looking forward to this exciting new adventure!
