Ms. Shenna Anderson

Biography

Ms. Shenna Anderson is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville and went on to earn a Post-Masters Certification in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University. As a doctoral student at Liberty University, Ms. Anderson is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Ms. Anderson brings over 15 years of experience in education including leadership roles in elementary, middle, and adult education. She has proudly served as an educator in Kentucky, Virginia, and Texas. Ms. Anderson joined DoDEA in 2017 as a 4th grade teacher at The Sullivans School and was promoted to assistant principal of The Sullivans School in Yokosuka, Japan in 2019.

Prior to joining DoDEA, Ms. Anderson swore to protect and serve the nation as a military police officer in the U.S. Army and special agent for the Department of Homeland Security. She has also served as an Education Specialist with the Bureau of Prisons and Quality Review and Training Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

It is Ms. Anderson’s belief that all students can and will learn when they are provided with opportunities and an environment where they feel safe to take risks. “Building positive relationships is crucial. I wholeheartedly believe the words of Maya Angelou, that people will never forget how you made them feel.” Ms. Anderson is honored to join the Cougar Nation at Osan Middle High School and looks forward to building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community as she continues to serve in her role as assistant principal.

Ms. Anderson is a wife and the mother of 2 children. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, decorating, and traveling.
