School year
2023 - 2024
Course Description

Algebra II is a (year-long) online course for middle school students that is aligned to DoDEA's content standards and the College and Career-Ready Standards for Mathematical Practice and meets high school graduation requirements. Throughout the course, students will investigate the relationship between complex numbers and other real numbers and analyze quadratic relationships with complex solutions, define and use arithmetic and geometric sequences and series to solve problems, analyze the inverse relationship between exponents and logarithms, analyze equations and graphs for conic sections (circle, ellipse, parabola, and hyperbola), and analyze relations, functions, and their graphs. Through the content, students will build mathematical habits of mind through reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical modeling. Course Note:  This course meets the Math course code 400 or above (1 of 2 credits - 2016-2018) and Algebra II (1 credit - 2019 and beyond) graduation requirement.
