ELA Writing 6

The (year-long) ELA writing course, Grade 6, is aligned to College and Career Ready Learning Standards and designed to support students' integration of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using conventions of standard English, grammar and usage. They will compose arguments, informative and narrative pieces. Students will develop the strategies necessary to support claims and cite evidence from literature and informational texts while developing skills to make effective choices about language. Students will develop collaborative behaviors as speakers and listeners to acquire and share knowledge.
