Language Arts 9 (Sem 1)

The online Language Arts 9 (Sem 1) course is designed to align with College and Career Ready Learning Standards. Students will read a variety of classic, contemporary and multicultural texts and apply analytic and critical thinking skills to their reading. Students will develop skills necessary to read appropriately complex grade level text proficiently and to effectively determine, analyze, integrate what the text says. Students will engage in integrated reading, writing, grammar, and speaking and listening tasks that develop abilities to successfully communicate through formal and informal writing and presentations. Writing instruction will extend students' abilities to write narrative, informational, and argumentative pieces. Course Note: This course satisfies the English Language Arts-9 (.5 of 1 credit) graduation requirement. This course is offered Semester 2 only.
