Life Skills K
The Life Skills K class addresses daily living skills or behaviors that contribute to the independence, comfort and opportunity of kindergarten students with disabilities in everyday life situations. These functional life skills are complex (i.e. multi-step) and are gradually learned through direct instruction that often times involves modeling and encouragement from adults. Students are taught explicitly and sequentially functional life skills such as personal hygiene, self-care (taking medicine, bandaging a cut), housekeeping, food preparation, community resources available and getting around the community.
