National Reading Month

March is National Reading Month

National Reading Month

Inspired by the National Education Association (NEA)'s Read Across America Day, on March 2, students of the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) schools in the United States, Europe and the Pacific will join millions of their peers around the U.S. to "Read Across DoWEA".

The annual NEA Read Across America Day anticipates millions of readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read. Military-connected students and their families will participate in events at DoWEA schools around the world.

It's a day for schools across DoWEA to join each other and the nation in celebrating the importance of encouraging literacy for all ages.

DoWEA schools around the world stand firmly committed to promoting reading as the catalyst for our students' future academic success, their preparation for America's jobs of the future, and their ability to compete in a global economy.
