Dr. Jeff Arrington, Superintendent of the DoDEA Europe South district, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Doris Brodie as the Assistant Principal of Vicenza High School in Vicenza, Italy. Dr. Brodie currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Ankara Elementary High School in Ankara, Turkey.

Brodie began her career in education with the Hartford Board of Education at Hartford High School, Thomas J. Quirk Middle School, and West Middle School, as a guidance counselor and health teacher. Since joining DoDEA, she has served as guidance counselor, educational program manager and elementary, middle, and high school administrator.

Brodie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Master of Science degree in counseling from the University of Central Connecticut. She went on to be conferred with a doctorate degree in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California.

“Vicenza High School is fortunate to have Dr. Doris Brodie joining the leadership team,” said Arrington. “Her broad range of experiences with DoDEA and Hartford schools will benefit the students and staff as we work together to provide every learner with a world-class education.”

She is the proud mother of three children, two of whom are graduates of DoDEA and are now a judge, a real estate developer and an MD/PhD. Brodie is excited about working in the 21st Century school setting at Vicenza High School and looks forward to the opportunity to serve. She is proud to be a part of the DoDEA team that provides excellence in education for the children of our United States service members and civilian support personnel.

Her mantra is “Every day is a great day in DoDEA” because she believes that she is engaged in the most important work on earth, that of guiding and educating the youth who will shape the future of our world.
