Dr. Lucille Sutherland named Kadena Elementary principal

Dr. Melissa Hayes, DoDEA Pacific South District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Lucille Sutherland as principal of Kadena Elementary School, effective for the 2025-26 school year. 

Dr. Lucille Sutherland has served as principal of Kinser Elementary School since 2017. She brings a wealth of experience to Kadena Elementary, having also served as principal at Lakenheath Elementary, located in the DoDEA Europe West District, from 2011-2017. 

She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Liberty University, educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University, an MBA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in education from Cortland State University.

Dr. Sutherland values fostering an environment where every student feels, valued, challenged, and supported. Building strong partnerships are critical to the success of all students and Dr. Sutherland is looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and parents of Kadena Elementary School.
