Emilio Garza named Principal of Barsanti Elementary School

Fort Campbell, KY —
Mr. Hugh McKinnon, Fort Campbell Schools Community Superintendent, is pleased to announce Mr. Emilio Garza as the new Principal of Barsanti Elementary School.
“We are fortunate to soon be working with someone as experienced in school administration as Mr. Garza,” said McKinnon. “His commitment to excellence and fostering strong community relations will be a valuable asset for Barsanti Elementary.”
About Mr. Emilio Garza
Prior to his appointment at Barsanti Elementary School, Mr. Garza served as Principal of W. T. Sampson Elementary-High School, in Fort Bragg, Cuba. He has also served as principal of Brewster Middle School, Camp Lejeune; principal at Gordon Elementary School, Fort Bragg, NC; acting assistant principal of Lejeune High School, Camp Lejeune, NC; and principal of Butner Primary School, Fort Bragg, NC. Prior to joining DoDEA, Mr. Garza worked as a principal and assistant principal for two civilian school districts. Mr. Garza is retired from the U. S. Army; for which his last active duty assignment was South Dakota State University, SD, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science.
Mr. Garza earned a bachelor’s degree in Resources Management from Troy State University in Fort Benning, GA. He earned a Master of Arts degree in (Educational) Leadership Studies, a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Employee Relations, and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership Studies from Marshall University Graduate College, WV. While attending Marshall University, he was selected for membership in the Marshall University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an honor society for business programs.
He and his wife, Linda, look forward to being part of the Fort Campbell community.
