Mr. Nick Gust named assistant principal at Kadena Middle School

Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific South District Superintendent Dr. Melissa Hayes is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Nick Gust as assistant principal at Kadena Middle School, located at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.

Mr. Gust brings more than 19 years of experience in education to Kadena Middle School. He has taught elementary, middle, and high school students. Mr. Gust has served DoDEA Pacific South in Okinawa for three years; as a teacher at Amelia Earhart Intermediate School, interim assistant principal at Kubasaki High School, and interim assistant principal at Kadema Middle School. He has lived and worked in several places during his career in education, including North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, and now Okinawa. 

He completed his undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University with a degree in Art Education, his first graduate degree at George Mason University with Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and his second graduate degree at Liberty University with a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision. A lifelong learner, he is currently progressing through an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Mr. Gust and his wife share three children, ages 10, 6, and 3. His hobbies include road cycling and collecting memorabilia representative of his childhood. 

He looks forward to working with the KDMS community.
