Ms. Angie Vernau named Pacific West District PK Instructional Systems Specialist

KOREA – DoDEA Pacific West District Superintendent Dr. Jacob Sherwood is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Angie Vernau as the district’s Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) for Prekindergarten (PK).
Ms. Vernau brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served more than two decades in public school systems prior to joining DoDEA in 2017 as a fourth-grade teacher at Humphreys Central Elementary. During her time with DoDEA she has also served as Science Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) and Professional Learning ISS.
Passionate about early childhood education, Ms. Vernau is looking forward to serving the Pacific West District as its PK ISS and contributing to the implementation of Universal PK. She believes in building positive and supportive learning environments for both educators and young learners. She looks forward to cultivating strong connections with teachers throughout the district, fostering a collaborative environment where collective growth and shared success become integral to our educational community.
Ms. Vernau holds an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern New Mexico University. She also earned a master’s degree and education specialist degree, both in Curriculum and Instruction, from Augusta University.
Together with her husband, John, Ms. Vernau has raised three children: Chris, Jonathan, and Laura Ashley. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, traveling, and experiencing the culture of South Korea.
