New Principal Named at Fort Benning’s E.A. White Elementary School
Peachtree City, GA —
The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Georgia/Alabama Community Superintendent, Dr. Lisa B. Coleman selected Dr. Todd A. Carver as the new E.A. White Elementary School principal at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Dr. Carver is not new to the Fort Benning community as he is the former assistant principal at E.A. White since July 2018, and worked as the assistant principal and Educational Technologist (ET) at Faith Middle School. Before working at Faith Middle School, he was an ET Instructional Specialist for the DoDEA Southeast District, where he facilitated professional development on 21st Century Teaching and Learning, supported the opening of 21st Century Schools and piloted a district-wide Project Based Learning program.
He started his DoDEA career as a high school computer science teacher at Zama American High School at Camp Zama, Japan. While teaching at Zama, he served in various supporting roles continuous school improvement chair, DoDEA Pacific Far East activities coordinator, Future Business Leaders of America sponsor, school advisory council, and freshman class sponsor.
Dr. Carver says he will actively seek to ensure that every single family is involved in the total school program and is provided equitable services at E.A. White. He looks forward to leading the staff and serving our military-connected families, which is a personal honor and career achievement.
Before working for DoDEA, Dr. Carver served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, retiring honorably after 23 years of service.
Dr. Carver earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Instructional Technology, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, both from National University in La Jolla CA. In 2012, Dr. Carver earned his Ph.D. in Business and Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University in Prescott Arizona.
He is married with three sons, who attended DoDEA schools overseas. All his sons currently serve on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Dr. Carver is replacing Dr. Renee Mallory, who retired.
