Mr. Ryan Smith, Mid-Atlantic District Superintendent, is delighted to announce the selection of Ms. Teresa Moon as the new Community Superintendent for Fort Bragg, effective June 15, 2025.

"Ms. Moon's extensive experience in educational leadership and her deep understanding of military communities make her the perfect choice for Fort Bragg," said Smith. "Her dedication to student success and professional development for educators will greatly enhance our schools and support our military families."

Moon brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Beginning her career as a high school mathematics and science teacher in Florida, she later taught in Ohio and served as an instructor for Middle Childhood Education at Kent State University. She also worked with the Ohio Department of Education, coaching principals, and teachers statewide on 21st Century Teaching and Learning and project-based learning.

Within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), Moon has held various leadership roles, including Instructional System Specialist for secondary mathematics and science, district STEM coordinator, and assistant principal at Joan K. Mendel Elementary School in Japan. She served as principal at Yokota High School in Japan and Lakenheath High School in England. She was the Specialized Content Program Manager at DoDEA Headquarters, overseeing twelve curriculum programs. Additionally, she designed professional learning and coached principals as the Professional Practice and Improvement Specialist for the Center of Instructional Leadership in Europe.

Most recently, Moon served as Community Superintendent for the Europe West District, supporting schools at AFNORTH, Brussels, SHAPE, and Spangdahlem. She holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.

"I am honored to join the Fort Bragg community and support our students, educators, and families," said Moon. "I look forward to fostering an environment of academic excellence and collaboration."
