The U.S. Senate Youth Program is merit-based and highly competitive

Qualified junior or senior high school students applying for this opportunity must show demonstrated leadership through public service in elected or appointed positions during the entire 2021 – 2022 school year where they are actively representing a constituency in organizations that relate to government, public affairs, history and/or community service. They must be actively serving in qualified leadership positions, enrolled in high school.

Two student delegates and a first and second alternate will be selected. The two winning delegates will represent DoDEA and the U.S. Senators for where their parent is registered to vote in an intensive educational program during the Fifty-Ninth Annual Washington Week. The event is scheduled for March 5-12, 2022.

Each of the two winning delegates will be awarded $10,000 undergraduate college Scholarship with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science. Winners MUST attend the entire 2022 in-person or online Washington Week, in order to receive the scholarship.

IMPORTANT: DoDEA students living in the Pacific, Europe, Puerto Rico, and Cuba apply through DoDEA Headquarters. DoDEA students in the Americas apply for the US Senate Youth Program through the state education agency and compete with other state applicants within their state.

DoDEA Students Selected for US Senate Youth Program

March 12, 2021 The United States Senate Youth Program has announced that DoDEA-Europe high school students Mr. Caden Richard Burkman and Ms. Amanda Marie Wills will represent DoDEA during the 59th annual USSYP Washington Week, to be held March 14-17, 2021.

Application Deadline

The application process opens on Monday, August 30th. To begin the process student's request to join the Schoology Course “United States Senate Youth Program – Student Applicants” with access code 458ZC-HSBTV.

The deadline for submission of all application and entry information is due on or before 11:59 p.m. EST, October 29th.
