Kathrin Interian

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Virtual High School (DVHS) is proud to announce Kathrin Interian as its 2026 DVHS Teacher of the Year. Ms. Interian teaches German to students across the globe through the DVHS online platform.


Beyond her role as a German teacher, Interian serves as the World Language Department Chair, Summer School Lead Teacher, and Educational Technologist. She is also an active member of the Teacher Mentor Program and the Continuous School Improvement team.


Her leadership extends beyond the classroom—she has contributed her expertise as a member of the Technical Evaluation Board (TEB) for German software vendors, an evaluator for the World Language Technical Evaluation Team (TET), and a presenter at DVHS Worldwide Conferences.


As the 2026 DVHS Teacher of the Year, Interian is now eligible to compete for the overall DoDEA Teacher of the Year title.
