Angela Clouse Principal of West Point ES

West Point, N.Y. —

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Angela Clouse as the new principal of West Point Elementary School, effective 13 July 2025. With over 25 years of experience in education and leadership across elementary, middle, and high school levels, Clouse brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to fostering student success.

Clouse began her career teaching in public schools in Arizona and Florida before joining DoDEA in 2010 at Lakenheath Middle School, located at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. There, she taught English Language Arts and AVID while serving in leadership roles that contributed to the school earning the prestigious National Blue-Ribbon Award for School Excellence. In 2018, she transitioned to school administration at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving as assistant principal at Kimberly Hampton Primary School and Albritton Middle School. In 2021, she returned to Kimberly Hampton Primary School as principal, successfully guiding the school through the post-pandemic transition to in-person learning.

“Mrs. Clouse’s extensive experience and dedication to military-connected students make her an exceptional fit for West Point Elementary School,” said Ryan Smith, DoDEA Mid-Atlantic District Superintendent. “Her leadership will continue to uphold our tradition of academic excellence and community engagement.”

Clouse holds an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Morehead State University. As the spouse of a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and mother of three children who attended DoDEA schools, she deeply understands the unique challenges and rewards of military family life. Her eldest daughter, a Lakenheath High School graduate, currently serves in the U.S. Air Force, while her son attends college, and her youngest daughter studies at Cary Ballet Conservatory.

Clouse is committed to building strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, and the community, ensuring every student receives an excellent education in a respectful environment. “I am honored to lead West Point Elementary School and look forward to working with our community to continue its legacy of excellence,” said Clouse.
