Ms. Patrice Powdar named Principal of Ansbach Elementary School

Ansbach, Germany —
Dr. Elizabeth Fales, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Europe East District Superintendent, announced the selection of Ms. Patrice Powdar as the new principal of Ansbach Elementary School.
Powdar is a veteran educator and school leader with more than 20 years of experience across multiple states and international locations. She most recently served as an Educational Technologist at Heroes Elementary School on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Prior to that, she was the assistant principal at Tabb High School in York County, Virginia.
Her leadership career began in 2016 at Kaiserslautern High School in Germany and continued at Brussels American School in Belgium, where she served until 2022.
Powdar began her career in 1997 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, holding various roles including science teacher, 21st Century Learning Center coordinator, and K-12 district science curriculum specialist. She also contributed to statewide educational initiatives as a member of Oklahoma’s science curriculum writing team.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and two Master’s degrees in Education—one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Educational Leadership. Her professional background includes expertise in educational technology, curriculum development and school leadership.
As the spouse of U.S. Air Force Retired Senior Master Sgt. Sheldon Powdar and the parent of three DoDEA-Europe graduates, Ms. Powdar brings a personal understanding of the needs of military-connected students and families.
Originally from Antigua, she moved to Florida with her family in 1986 and is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida.
“Ms. Powdar’s commitment to educational excellence and her deep connection to the military community make her an ideal leader for Ansbach Elementary School,” Dr. Fales said.
Powdar said she is excited to join the Cougar Cubs community and looks forward to fostering an inclusive and engaging environment for all students.
